Maui Family Photographer

I was so excited when mom Sheri emailed me to let me know that her family was coming back to Maui. We had met last year for a session in Lahaina and  this year decided on Ironwood Beach in Kapalua for the dramatic cliffs and white sand.

This lovely family of three from Illinois is sweet as ever.

Little V still has quite the personality and is now approaching age two. She made it clear what she liked and what she didn’t like and definitely put me to the test when it came to coaxing smiles. Sometimes in these situations it’s best to step back and not coax out smiles at all – just let her be – and that’s when the magic happened. Keep reading for some of my favorite moments from this session.

It was definitely a little windy on this particular morning. See this moment below? V wanted her Mom – she didn’t want to smile – and this image made me happier than any smile at the camera.

V also loves her Daddy – a lot. So playing on the beach and getting snuggles are the best!

Last year we had an adorable hat and it’s back for this year! Look at that little fashionista! I kept talking to her pretending I wasn’t taking any pictures. Sometimes being a little sneaky is part of the job.
