Maui Wedding Photographer: Amanda and Jamie at Ka’anapali Beach Hotel

Maui Wedding Photographer

Amanda and Jamie are a pretty special couple. And I say this because I mean it. Their wedding was scheduled for Saturday, October 18th – the day Hurricane Ana was set to arrive. I get a call on Thursday, “We are hoping you might be available on Friday.” says Jamie. “As in tomorrow?” was my response. “Yes. Can you do it?” he says. At this point I was thanking my lucky stars that my husband was off on Friday and could take our daughter to her doctor appointment and get the kids from school so we could shift this wedding ahead by a day.

I arrived at Ka’anapali Beach Hotel to the sounds of the hotel staff preparing for the arrival of the storm – workers were drilling up plywood to the windows and I thought to myself, “oh boy – I hope Amanada is ok!”. I knocked on the door. And there was Amanda sweet as can be. While plans were changed and the itinerary changed, and even our ideal weather had changed, there was one thing that hadn’t changed – Amanda and Jamie love each other and were getting married.

These lovebirds had their first dating moments taking their dogs to the dog park. Early in their relationship, Amanda came to Hawaii on a two week vacation and it was over that two weeks, with texts and calls, that Amanda knew this was a special relationship.

Their wedding day was full of not only a light sprinkling of rain, but also many smiles, lots of family hugs, and some rainbows as well. Congratulations you two! I am so glad we got together before the crazy weather started! XOXO
