The Rubbah Slippah Drive

Rubber Slippers

Whether you call them flip-flops, thongs, zori’s, or anything else, in Hawaii the number one footwear are Slippers. Often referred to as Slippahs by locals, these shoes are the number 1 footwear of Hawaii students.

According to Hawaii law, a child cannot enter the cafeteria without footwear. If a child’s slippers break at school, they cannot eat lunch. Mariah and family donate 10 pairs of slippers to Makawao Elementary School in various sizes every year, however, we would like to make sure that children in all Upcountry elementary schools aren’t walking around barefoot.

When you bring a pair of NEW slippers to your photo session, Photography by Mariah Milan will issue you a $10 print credit to use in your online gallery however you wish.  That’s a win-win for you and for a student in Maui!
