Staci & Alex are Married! San Francisco Wedding Photographer Mariah Milan

This wedding was such a treat. You see, many, many years ago, I was a little girl. And there were five little girls living across the street from me. We played make believe, rode our bikes around our street, fought with each other and made up, and were close friends. Over the years as we grew, that time of our childhood faded away and we all grew into women with things to do. Over the years, we’ve kept in touch (love Facebook!). And when Staci was planning on getting married, I was asked a very special question by their mom, “Can you photograph the wedding?”. I was honored. And so excited.

Staci has grown up into an amazing, beautiful woman. She and Alex were high school sweethearts. And for whatever reason, they parted ways and it took many years for them to find their way back to each other again. Staci moved to Spain and Alex accumulated many frequent flier miles flying from California to Spain over and over again. He proposed in Spain, and the wedding planning began.

I flew into San Francisco and we spent the night at the Carriage Inn. The night prior to the wedding, we decided a little mom/daughter/sister fun was in order.

I joined the bride and her mom, Aura, for getting ready. Staci did her own hair and makeup and looked phenomenal. The hotel lent the perfect vintage character to Staci’s dress, shoes, and vintage style.

We then headed to San Francisco City Hall to meet up with Alex and have the ceremony. It was the San Francisco Giants opening day, and the day their victory banner was to be raised. Apparently this was a popular day to get married. City Hall was bustling with people getting married.

After the ceremony I had Staci and Alex all to myself for some pictures at the Palace of Fine Arts and Crissy Field. The day couldn’t have been more perfect for photography. San Francisco was smiling down sunshine on Staci and Alex.

The lunch reception was held at The Thirsty Bear Brewing Company in downtown San Francisco. When Staci and Alex arrived, the party was in full swing – family and friends cheered for them. Everyone dined on wonderful food and amazing cupcakes.

It was an absolute delight to photograph this beautiful couple and document their time with their families. Congratulations Staci and Alex!!
