We usually go into a photo session with a picturesque expectation in mind. We want that perfect image of our family… afterall, we’ve invested time into selecting the perfect outfit, we’ve invested money into the photography, we’ve put forth a vision and we know what we want out of it.
But sometimes our vision as parents isn’t exactly what the kids have in mind, and as a photographer, that’s what I’m here for. Especially with younger children – sometimes those smiles aren’t as forthcoming. Sometimes a special toy or blanket needs to be present. Sometimes a frown is what we’re going to get. And though this isn’t the ideal image you may have pictured, it’s important to know what I see.
I see my job as a photographer to capture your life now. These moments. The moment that you’re consoling your baby. Or laughing. Or splashing. Or the moment that your child needs their lovey to feel better. This time is so fleeting.
This beautiful ohana and I had a session very much like what I’m describing above. And I am so thrilled with how these images came out because there is so much tangible love here. Enjoy!
