DT Fleming Beach is one of the best beaches on Maui when it comes to extended families. Located on the west coast of the island, it offers convenience to Lahaina, Kaanapali and Kapalua, has a bank of flat sand, and plenty of room to play. It’s no wonder that so many families choose to this spot for their photos.

We have had the privilege of photographing this gorgeous extended family three times over the years, and it’s like a big hug-filled homecoming every single time!

Sorry adults, it’s all about the kids!

In larger group sessions we’ve found that adults can tend to stress the kids out. There… we said it! We know adults want perfect, but with so many people, it’s easy for kids to feel overwhelmed when all they want to do is play. So in larger extended family sessions, we take the time to play with the kids, give them lots of breaks, and engage with them to find out what they want and need. We love when parents have a great experience, but when the kids have the best time ever, that means the world to us!

We love, love, love these beachy sunset sessions and are so thankful for extended families coming back to Maui time and time again!
