Maui Surprise Proposal

It was pretty amazing how quickly we put this together with just a few texts back and form with Amar. He couldn’t sneak away from Nisha too much. He surprised Nisha with this vacation under the premise that they were here to celebrate his birthday. Little did she know that he was planning on proposing during the trip. I always love it when photography is added as an element to the proposal, because the look on Nisha’s face was priceless!

It started with me arriving to the beach early to create a heart in the sand. And then I hid in a bush…

The funniest thing was that I hadn’t realized the bush had thorns until I was in it. And by then they were walking toward the spot so I was stuck. In the bush. With thorns. It was worth it for this shot:

I can only imagine what Nisha was thinking when stumbling upon this heart in the middle of the beach. Was it left from a wedding? Did someone create it for their love? Or was this starting to be suspiciously romantic? And then….

The air was thick with volcanic ash creating a spectacular sunset to finish off their evening. It was truly an epic night.

Congratulations Amar and Nisha! May your love continue to bloom and let the wedding plans begin!
