I have always wanted to do something special for Mother’s Day, but every year it comes and goes so quickly. May is a busy season for weddings and portraits and finally I was able to get this on the calender. But I didn’t just want to do sessions, I wanted it to be meaningful… what is the most meaningful job on the planet? Mom’s of course. And there’s a really amazing organization here on Maui called Women Helping Women – so Peter and I set out to make an afternoon to celebrate Motherhood and also benefit WHW!
With the amazing Kukahiko Estate in Makena, donated by the very generous Bliss Maui, we started an afternoon I’ll never forget with mom’s I’ve known for years and some I’d just met that day. What ensued was beautiful moments between mother and child along with moments that you just can’t script. There was laughing, a little crying, lots of cuddles, and lots of “real” moments.
Enjoy part one….
We raised $900 for Women Helping Women that day. I am so incredibly proud – thank you to the families that came to make this day possible. Stay tuned for part two!
