Jessi and Andy got married in a quiet backyard ceremony in Makawao town surrounded by their close family. Jessi wanted a session for just the two of them somewhere on the North Shore and Baldwin Beach was our chosen spot. When I arrived and was waiting at the meeting spot I smiled ear to ear when I saw them approaching. They were so happy and so full of light.
Jessi is a graphic artist and loves sunflare and light, photography, and the outdoors. Andy, as Jessi puts it, is “a super outdoor survivalist type with tattoos and earrings”. Together these two make a beautiful couple and were up for exploring the party end of Baldwin Beach. While we were on that end of the beach, a kind gentleman with a harp offered to play them a wedding song for a first dance. It was one of those moments where I think to myself, “only on Maui!” and it’s true. The Aloha spirit runs deep wherever you go. It was truly a beautiful moment and made the afternoon even more special.
Jessi and Andy played in the water and climbed on rocks. The sun went down behind West Maui Mountains and gave way to a beautiful evening and these newlyweds went home to a feast the family was preparing.
Congratulations Jessi and Andy! It was wonderful to meet you both and be your Maui photographer!
