A Painterly Sky for Betsy & Jon’s Maui Vow Renewal

I often say that I am inspired by love. In this case, I was not only inspired, I was completely surrounded.

Betsy and Jon met each other in 4th grade and had crushes on each other until they finally started dating in college. After marriage, they decided that Hawaii was the place to get away and decided to renew their vows here every ten years. On this, their 10th anniversary, I was thrilled to witness their love for each other with Pastor Laki Ka’ahumanu on Maluaka Beach in Makena.

Little did Betsy know that Jon had hidden away in his pocket a brand new ring for her. He had literally stolen her original ring, put in a fake diamond, and got her a gorgeous new ring with her original diamond. I didn’t even know it was coming and Betsy’s reaction was priceless. After their ceremony, we were blessed with a magnificent sky, the sound of the rolling waves, and love everywhere.

Congratulations Betsy and Jon! What a special anniversary to be a part of – totally my honor!
