There are times in life where certain people come into your life when you need them the most. That is the case with a dear friend of mine, Nikki, who I met in Texas. This island girl in great big Texas needed a friend and she was there for me from day one. She moved up to the Dallas area and I moved back home, but Nikki is still an amazing friend and I miss her dearly. She sent me a note that her friend Austine and family were coming to Maui and hoped that we could get together for a shoot. It worked out perfectly and I got to meet Austine’s beautiful family and capture some really beautiful family photos on gorgeous Kapalua Bay to celebrate a big 40th anniversary. It is always so amazing to me how the world can become such a small place – even across oceans – that someone knows someone and people can connect. It was like falling into an instant friendship with Austine’s family simply because they are friends with Nikki. Isn’t the world so wonderful!?
