How do you (safely) have an adventure session with a toddler in tow? Firstly, you need a photographer that knows Maui’s terrain and where it’s feasible to have a Maui adventure with a little one in tow. It is possible! Read our tips for adventure portraits with a toddler below.
Firstly, we were THRILLED to see Meg and Steph again. Three years ago, their wedding was the first ever that my husband, Peter, officiated. Little did we know that their wedding was going to give his life more meaning and purpose than he ever anticipated and was the catalyst to him leaving the corporate world to pursue entrepreneurship alongside me full time.
Fast forward to now and Meg and Steph have the most adorable little guy. We wanted a location that was safe for him, but also showed off Maui’s incredible beauty and gave us the sense of adventure we wanted. We nailed it with our locale in Olowalu, Maui on an absolutely gorgeous morning.
1 – Choose a location that is safe. You don’t want cliffs or cars anywhere nearby.
2 – Bring along a friend or relative to help. In this case, Peter came along with me to help with Little Man and that also helped us to get some beautiful romantic photos of Meg and Steph without worry
3 – Where appropriate shoes. They may get wet!
4 – Bring along snacks!
5 – Understand that there’s going to be a lot of candids, games, and walking around. This is a good thing – because it displays the relationship and love between you.
