Brittany & Logan | Kapalua Wedding Photographer

By Kapalua Wedding photographer, Mariah Milan Photographers

When Brittany reached out asking about wedding photography, I was in a shift with my business – I wanted the weddings I was photographing and my team was photographing to have more meaning. I wanted them to have more emotion and not just focus on the prettiness of the beach or on wedding details like invitations or shoes. When I told Brittany the type of couples that I was looking for, she responded with such a beautiful note:

“I  am so relieved that you cut right to the chase and fully described us as a couple. Everything that we are trying to create in Maui for our wedding day, is about as little stress as possible so that we can be our carefree silly selves with a marriage of smiles and laughs. What is most important is the feel of everything, not the look. We aren’t going for the kind of wedding that looks all glamorous and expensive. We want our love and adoration for each other to shine above everything, because we absolutely love our life together.

This is a marriage of best friends who love each other to absolute bits, not an agreement of compromises so that we could make it look good and presentable for photos. We are all about having a good time and making memories that last, because we have been together for 8 years already we’ve been through it all and worked through it so that laughing until tears at and with each other happens on any given day.”

Their love absolutely took my breath away and made me incredibly excited to meet them in person and photograph their Kapalua wedding at Ironwood Beach.

We started the day with a first look moment… and let me tell you, it was a stellar, amazing moment.

Surrounded by family and friends and the beautiful music of Kalo, Brittany and Logan exchanged vows with the sound of the ocean, some tears, some laughs, and the beautiful words of Pastor Ben Bryson.

After the ceremony the two of them surprised their family with a heartfelt tribute to Brittany’s brother throwing rose petals into the ocean in his honor.

By the time the ceremony was over the sun was high in the sky and it was getting hot. Normally this time of day would make me squirm – hello late morning! But the day was absolutely beautiful and Brittany and Logan were total troopers in the hot sun.

Brittany and Logan, what a privilege to be present and capture your love for each other. Thank you so much for having Peter and I!
