Emi Azeka is such an artist. As a milliner, her amazing hats take on what seems to be a life of their own. Each piece is a creation of the heart – inspired by Emi’s surroundings, feelings, or by the woman with whom she’s making the hat for. Each piece is a work of art. These incredible hats have graced the heads of royalty, first ladies, actors, writers and more.

I got the opportunity to photograph some of her hats and also to photograph her booth at the Seabury Craft Fair held a couple of weeks ago. As an artist myself, it is such a treat to experience such beautiful pieces. Emi shows weekly as one of the Artists in Residence at the Four Seasons Resort Wailea on Fridays.
