I love my job. I adore my job. I love my island and I am madly in love with my family.
I get to meet so many wonderful people who also fall in love with Maui and I often am asked, “How do you do it?” and “How do you balance your job and family?” I was also asked this by a publication recently, and while I’m not sure if it will be published, I thought it was a good idea to share with all my readers what a day in the life of Mariah and family looks like!
For those considering moving to Maui and want to know about the lifestyle – I’ll say this – live simply and live filled with aloha. Expect to work hard. Expect it to be expensive. Expect to have more adventures then you ever thought possible and know that this is the most amazing place to raise a family. Be humble. Love Maui and Maui will love you back.
This is a snapshot of July 31st (combination of SLR and iPhone pictures).
One of my boys always sneak into my room and I wake up with a little boy next to me every single morning. Mornings in our house wouldn’t be complete without some snuggles from our kids.
My husband has completely ruined coffee house coffee because he makes the best French Press coffee ever for me every single morning.
While I’m enjoying my morning coffee, I’m at the computer catching up on emails, working on photos, preparing discs, and doing anything business related. I decided not to clean my desk for this shoot because this desk is such a working desk if I cleaned it I wouldn’t know where anything is!
I really had to laugh with this image because it’s so US. We are a family of goofballs, including our dogs. We love Mo Willem’s books and I often joke that I should be the voices if it’s ever made into a cartoon. My son Kai is pretending to be a ninja and our dog Emmy refuses to acknowledge a camera!
Before my evening photo shoot, we took the kids to the beach. Nothing like some afternoon swimming to wear them out for bed time!
Arriving at Big Beach for my sunset session – I put an average of 90 miles on my car every day. Between my husbands Fit “Bunny” and my xB “Exbee-alee-doshus”, we are driving a lot!
My husband, Peter. If you’ll be staying at the new Andaz Resort in Wailea, be sure to say hello to him!
Me! Just before my clients were set to arrive.
Me in action – photographing two adorable kiddos.
After an evening photo session, it’s bath and bed for my Littles followed by either more editing on the computer for me or some Netflix (or both!)
My days are full and there are always a million things to do. So many hats to wear – Mom, Wife, Housekeeper, Homework Helper, Photographer, Business Person – but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Welcome to my world – glad you stopped by!
